Case Study I

Pt. Name: Aniket Kotak
Age: 10 years
Address: Belda, Mednipore, WB
Deformity: Right Mild Calcaneus Valgus, TA spasticity
Cause: Mild cerebral cortex dysfuntion
Gait: Steppage gait with toe dragging

Management: A regular PT can show some effectiveness but it may take months, hence a Carbon fibre laminated Dynamic AFO with Otto Bock ankle dorsiflexion assist joint was intervened to stretch the TA and maintain normal gait cycle without any deviation.
Result: Pt. is called for a follow-up after three months

Doubt: Can the stimulus, to the TA, by the orthotic joint add in correcting the deformity and reduction of the tone??
